Prince Edward and Sophie Welcome Son

December 17, 2007 by Jeanne

Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, welcomed the newest member of the Royal Family. Buckingham Palace has announced that a baby boy delivered via caesarean section on Monday to the 42-year-old countess of Wessex.

The palace says in a statement that Edward, the Queen’s youngest son, and Sophie, are “absolutely thrilled.”

The baby, not yet named, is the Queen’s eighth grandchild. The infant weighed six pounds, two ounces and was delivered by caesarean section Monday at Frimley Park Hospital outside London.

The couple’s daughter, Lady Louise, was born in November 2003.

I am really happy to hear that all is well and I can’t wait to see pictures of the baby!
