Gordon Moakes Takes Paternity Leave
There’ll be one noticeable absence on the Bloc Party tour this summer: bass guitarist Gordon Moakes. Instead he’ll be spending time with his pregnant wife, who’s due in a few weeks, just in case “the little one decides to put in an early appearance.
“So while the other chaps are jetting around the Pacific Rim I will be buying the groceries, attending ante-natal classes and generally preparing myself for the cloud of unknown that is becoming a dad,” he said on the band’s website.
Lovely to see a man who has his priorities in order! Bloc Party fans may be interested to know Gordon’s friend Daniel Lindgren, aka Tommy Sparks, will be filling in until he gets back.
