Laura Ingraham Adopts Guatemalan Tot
May 28, 2008 by lkatulka
Radio talk show host Laura Ingraham has a adopted a three-year-old daughter, Maria Caroline, from Guatemala.
Laura said the trip to collect her new daughter was “the most amazing few days that I’ve ever spent in my life, and the best thing I’ve ever done.” She arrived at the orphanage armed with only a picture of her little girl, but she instantly recognized her “mop-top” when she saw Maria clutching a plastic bag. Inside were all her belongings.
The 43-year-old said she had spent so much time with her friends’ children, she eventually felt a calling to become a mother herself, “especially to someone who didn’t have anybody.”
She’s only had Maria home for a few weeks, but Laura said she’s already an “irritating mother.” Maria is already learning English, and Laura’s Spanish is also improving.
“So, I was once an ‘I’ and now I’m a ‘we’,” she said on her website. I couldn’t have said it better myself!

James Caviezel Adopts Sick Daughter

The Passion of the Christ star James Caviezel and his wife Kerri recently became the adoptive parents of a little girl from China’s Guangzhou region. Their new daughter has a brain tumor, but James and Kerri decided to proceed with the operation because they felt she would not easily find other adoptive parents.
Remarkably, the situation is nothing new for the Caviezels. In 2007 they adopted son Bo, a Chinese boy who also had a brain tumor. His tumor was removed and he has since made a full recovery.
“It didn’t matter to me because the joy that we had from [Bo] - he’s like our own. We took the harder road. That is what faith is to me; it’s action. It’s the Samaritan. It’s not the one who says he is; it’s the one who does - and does without bringing attention to himself. I’m saying this because I want to encourage other people,” James explained to Catholic Online.
He admitted that adopting two children with tumors left him “completely terrified” but he has no regrets.
“Yes, you do feel fear, you do feel scared but you have no idea the blessings that you have coming to you if you just take a chance on faith.”
How amazing to find people so willing to take on these children, despite their difficulties. I’m sure they will find their new daughter gives them back so much love, it’ll be all worthwhile!
Laurel Holloman Adopts a Daughter
There must be something in the water. The L Word’s Laurel Holloman has joined Edie Falco and become a new
adoptive mom. Laurel and her husband Paul Machery adopted a daughter on March 25.
The rumor mill began to buzz after she recently dropped out of a planned publicity appearance, so she figured she’d better set the record straight.
“I’m not pregnant; I adopted a little girl on March 25th,” she revealed on The L Word Fan Site. “It’s a domestic adoption. [That's] all I can say. So I have two little girls now. I’m not going to say anything yet, but it was an amazing experience.
“I had a wonderful experience with the birth mother who I spent a lot of time with before I left. Her labor was very touch and go and I was not going to leave her alone in that situation and go to London [for the convention]. I really wanted to go to London, but I didn’t want to risk losing my daughter.”
I bet Laurel’s three-year-old daughter Lola will love having a new sister to play with!

Will Jennifer Aniston Adopt?

Now we all know The National Enquirer isn’t exactly a reputable source, but the trashy tabloid claims Jennifer Aniston is the latest celeb planning to adopt.
The gossip rag says she’s hearing her biological clock ticking loud and clear and plans to adopt not one, but two, babies.
“She longs for a baby girl,” a source allegedly told The National Enquirer.
“But she’s not intending to stop at one! Jen has decided on two of similar ages, and if the opportunity to take a boy comes first she’ll wait for the girl.”
But don’t expect Jen to follow in Brangelina’s footsteps. Apparently everyone’s favorite “Friend” insists there are plenty of needy orphans in Los Angeles.
If nothing else, at least that part’s true! What do you think? Do you believe this latest rumor?
