Congratulations to Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof! The former Buffy the Vampire Slayer castmates have welcomed a baby girl!

Satyana Denisof was born on Tuesday March 24 in Los Angeles. The little girl shares her birthday with her mom Alyson!

Though no further details have been released, Alyson’s rep told People, “They’re very excited, and mom and baby are doing great.”

Mom-to-be Alyson Hannigan celebrated her Irish roots on St. Patrick’s Day.

Walking with her husband Alexis Denisof, she sported a green T-shirt which declared “Everyone loves an Irish girl.”

Well we do if they’re Alyson! She’s positively glowing and it’s little wonder. Reports say she’s due to give birth any day now! The couple know the gender of their little one but are leaving us hanging until the big day!

Now that she’s in her second trimester, Alyson Hannigan’s cravings are in full swing. Alexis Denisof says he has to supply a steady stream of pickles, but they’ve got to be just the right ones.

“If I bring the wrong ones home, she won’t touch ‘em. It has to be the exact right ones. They’re the sweet, kosher pickles. They can’t be the pepper, garlic, or whatever — it has to be the right one,” he insisted.

Alexis also let slip that Alyson fibbed to us recently – they know the gender of their unborn baby after all!

“We know the gender, but I don’t think I’m allowed to say. Alyson didn’t give a clearance,” says Alexis.

Alyson and Alexis are already thinking baby names, and have devised a pretty clever system. They both make lists, swap the suggestions, then “start eliminating names from each other’s lists” in the hope of eventually compiling a “master list.” A couple of names that haven’t made the cut are Alyson’s suggestion of Bruce, and Alexis’ pick of Dennis!

Alexis shared that his wife is also in nesting mode.

“As soon as she gets a minute off, she wants to go to a baby store and fiddle with the clothes and look at the cribs. It’s been really fun! Slowly we are collecting onesies!”

The couple will welcome their first child in spring.

Alyson Hannigan’s barely sporting a bump yet, she she’s already received her first piece of maternity clothing: a blouse sent by hot label A Pea in the Pod! She’s not quite ready to wear it yet though, instead preferring blouses with empire waists to “disguise the little tummy.”

Maternity clothes aren’t the only things turning up on Alyson’s doorstep. She’s already received some goodies for the nursery!

“Well, you know, I’ve been very fortunate because people are already sending me things so they’re doing the job for me,” she joked.

But there’s one big question that remains unanswered: pink or blue! Alyson admits she’s “not very patient,” so it’s “hard to wait” for the big news.

Hopefully once they know the gender Alyson and her husband Alexis Denisof will settle on a name, because she’s a bit clueless right now!

“I don’t know yet, but definitely not Zuma! That is taken!”

With the baby not due until spring, Alyson and Alexis have plenty of time to decide!

Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof are expecting a child together! Alyson’s rep told People magazine that the How I Met Your Mother actress is due this spring.

Alyson and Alexis met on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer set in 1999, where they played Willow and Wesley. They wed five years ago. The new arrival will be the first child for them both. How exciting!
