Many moms feel pressure to regain their slender figures after giving birth, but few are as committed to the cause as The Biggest Loser host Alison Sweeney!

“People ask me why I was so committed to losing weight after Megan was born and why I wanted to do it quickly,” said Alison. “I felt that I owed it to the contestants, to every person that stood on that scale next to me and given it everything they had all week long to get there. I owed it to them to show them I honored what they did and how brave they are and I wanted to be a part of that.”

The show has taught Alison the valuable lesson “that you are worth it. You’re a role model now, so spending time on yourself to get healthy, spending time to go to the gym, is actually the best gift you can give your kids.”

So what’s Alison’s weight loss secret? She recommends “cooking at home more often and [packing] snacks with you. The first step you can take to cut out unwanted calories is to make sure you know what you’re eating and putting it in the food yourself.”

Alison and her husband, Dave Sanov, are also parents to son Benjamin Edward, 4.

The Biggest Loser host Alison Sweeney’s daughter has arrived!

Megan Hope Sanov was born on Monday January 12 at 11:48 pm. She tipped the scales at 6 lb. 7 oz.

“It was a very easy delivery, and everybody is great. Both mommy and baby – and daddy, too – are doing well,” her rep said.

Megan is the first daughter for Alison and her husband Dave Sanov. She joins her big brother, three-year-old Benjamin.

The Biggest Loser host Alison Sweeney celebrated her baby shower at Los Angeles’ Treehouse Social Club on November 2.

The guests, including many of Alison’s Days of Our Lives costars, snacked on Sunflower Baking cookies and Crumbs cupcakes, and sipped on Bloom Tea and Izze drinks.

The second-time mom raked in the gifts, but there was a twist. She donated them all to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital!

“It seemed the perfect opportunity to do something good and have a good time, too,” Alison told Life & Style.

The event was hosted by the Hot Moms Club, sponsored by BabyPlus and Huggies, and decked out by decorator Jennifer Sibranti.

Alison and her husband David Sanoy expect a little sister for three-year-old son Benjamin on January 20.

While Alison loves having a little boy, she’s understandably excited about being mom to a girl this time around!

“I love decorating her room with all this great girlie stuff,” she said. “I’ll be honest, I’m very excited about buying a princess dress. And the lip gloss and nail polish - it’s going to be so cute!”

Unusual names like Honor and Apple are all the rage with celebrities, but don’t expect anything so outrageous from Alison.

“We’re very traditional,” she said. “We’re not at all interested in artsy, creative, trendy names.”

Alison Sweeney worked her pregnant belly in a fitting cross-over top at NBC’s Fall Premiere Party on Thursday. Pregnancy really agrees with her - she looks fabulous!

Much to her surprise, Alison Sweeney has been craving sweet things during her pregnancy. This sweet tooth is in complete contrast to Alison’s last pregnancy where she hungered after savory things.

For her health’s sake, Alison has turned to fruit to indulge those cravings but she’s still careful not to overindulge.

“I bought a cantaloupe, and I had to stop myself from eating the whole thing. I cut it up and put it in this big bowl and then next thing I knew, half of it was gone,” she told People at the Clothes Off Our Back auction.

But Alison considers herself lucky that she can eat at all. During the first few months of her pregnancy some “brutal” morning sickness made it difficult to eat anything!

“I would order my favorite things from restaurants, and I would get it and say, ‘Get that thing away from me.’ Grilled chicken or tomatoes would be the worst. I would tell my husband to get it away from me. All I wanted was Cheerios - it was all I could eat for two months,” she admitted.

Happily that’s all behind her and Alison’s just doing her best to stay healthy. While she knows that pregnancy is “really the only time in your life that you’re supposed to gain weight,” she’s still making sure she doesn’t gain too much. She’s “addicted” to her Biggest Loser cohost Bob Harper’s spinning class because “everyday is different, and you can shake it up every day.”

Alison Sweeney showed off her adorable little baby bump at the NBC All Star Party this week. Talk about glowing!

The Biggest Loser host Alison Sweeney is so desperate to find out the sex of her new baby, she plans to have a “high-tech ultrasound at the third month” of her pregnancy.

But despite her excitement, Alison doesn’t mind whether she has a boy or a girl.

“The whole experience of having a little girl, I’d love that,” adding that her “heart cries out for all those adorable little girls clothes.”  But that doesn’t mean she has her heart set on a daughter. “I love having a boy, and I would definitely not mind having another.”

Her three-year-old son Benjamin has a preference, but it’s not of the human variety!

“When we showed him a picture of the ultrasound and asked him, ‘Would you like a little brother or sister?’ he said ‘Can it be a helicopter?’ So … we’re working on it,” she told People. How cute!

Alison is battling a little afternoon queasiness but it hasn’t kept her away from one of her favorite foods: Greek yoghurt.

“I put sliced almonds and cinnamon and strawberries in my yogurt with a little Splenda, and it’s so good.”

Alison and her husband Dave Sanov expect their second child in the third week of January.
