Father’s Day was especially sweet for Matthew McConaughey. Not only did he celebrate for the first time with his 11-month-old son Levi and girlfriend Camila Alves, but he relished the knowledge that another is on the way!

“Happy Father’s Day. It’s my first, and the last 11 months with Levi and Camila have been the most rewarding adventure to date. We have more blessed news to celebrate this Father’s Day that makes this time next year double the fun. Levi is going to be a big brother … Yeah, we pulled off the greatest miracle in the world one more time,” Matthew wrote on his website.

“Camila and I are expecting our second child, bringing more life into the world, making more to live for. The future looks bright and as the family grows and we thank you for all the well wishes you send our way. Viva la evolucion, naturally, and in the mean times and all time, just keep livin, Matthew and Camila.”

Camila Alves’ epic labor to give birth to son Levi is legendary now, but don’t think her partner Matthew McConaughey was sitting idly by. He was in charge of the playlist!

The actor told Elle that Camila requested tribal tunes, but the ones he picked weren’t always to her liking!

“She was also really quick to say, ‘Skip that f–kin’ song!’ So here I was blazing through this playlist while she’s nodding her head yay or nay, and I’m like, ‘This next song better have that groove or I’m going to have to run across the bed and change it,’” he admitted.

There was some speculation about unusual name choices, but Matthew said he “wouldn’t dare compete” with his brother Rooster, who infamously named his son Miller Lyte.

“Like calling [our baby] Jose Cuervo?” jokes Matthew. “[Rooster's] got a daughter coming, and I think her name is going to be Margarita. I’m serious.”

Oh I pity those poor children! Matthew sounds like a much more sensible daddy!

New parents Camila Alves and Matthew McConaughey took their baby son Levi Alves walking yesterday. We can’t see him, but we know he’s in there! Matthew is carrying a basket filled with gifts for his bubba. Looks like Levi’s a popular lad!

Proud parents Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves have posed with their newborn son Levi Alves for the cover of this week’s OK! magazine.

The proud parents revealed to the magazine how they worked as a team during Levi’s birth.

“We found a great rhythm,” Matthew explained. “Contractions started kicking in. I sat there with her, right between her legs. We got tribal on it, we danced to it! I was DJ-ing this Brazilian music.”

Levi was born at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center, and Matthew documented Camila’s hospital experience in his diary.
“I have it all chronicled,” he explained. “Becoming a dad is something I’ve dreamed of doing since I was 10. Becoming a father felt very, very natural. We were jamming! She was sweating. No painkiller, let’s go. She just clicked into that gear that only a woman has at a time like this. We’d been up for 40-something hours, and we went from dead tired to a really steadfast, ‘Let’s handle this… let’s stay in the rhythm. Don’t let the contraction be more than you.’”

Camila hoped for a natural birth without pain killers, but in the end it came down to what was safest for her and the baby.

“We ended up having an epidural because, on the large contractions, the umbilical cord was being compressed. They went in and tried the vacuum. This is where I learned - and no one tells you this - but having a baby is a bloody, pukey, sweaty, primeval thing! And I mean that as a beautiful thing. It is wild. But the vacuum didn’t work, and the doctor said, ‘C-section.’”

The hunky actor cut his son’s umbilical cord and held him for 15 minutes while the doctors worked on Camila. Levi was a delivery surprise, but they were not shocked to find they had a boy.

“I said, ‘Come here, little man. I saw the pecker and screamed that we’d been right all along about him being a boy. Then I brought him over to her [Camila],’ Matthew said.

“It was neat to find out what the sex was because we didn’t have the doctor tell us beforehand,” Camila agreed.

So who does little Levi take after? The jury’s still out on that one.

“Everybody thinks he looks like me because of the hair and skin tone,” Camila said. “I think he looks more like Matthew every day.”

“I’ve pulled out some baby pictures of myself, and the resemblance is amazing,” Matthew agreed. “This kid has a lot to learn from us. I want him to come out being a little wiser, a little cooler and a little happier than we are.”

What a gorgeous family they make! I suppose we all expected that though, right?

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves are the proud parents of a bouncing new baby boy. Levi Alves McConaughey was born in Los Angeles yesterday evening. He weighed 7 lb. 4 oz.

“A healthy baby boy was born,” Matthew exclaimed in a statement. “Camila and I were side-by-side the entire time. We are both tired and elated, and are so happy to have created the greatest miracle in the world - having a child and making a family. Now comes the greatest adventure - raising one, together.”

Matthew talked about the significance of Levi’s names on his online blog.

“Levi was in fact another name for the apostle Matthew in the Bible … they were in fact two names for the same person,” he explained. “Our son was born at 6:22 pm, and this particular time represents my favorite verse in the book of Matthew in the Bible: ‘if thy eye be single, thy whole body will be full of light.’

“Camila’s last name is ‘Alves’ … we wanted to incorporate her family name, so we decided to make our child’s middle name ‘Alves.’”

Congratulations to Matthew and Camila. I’ll bet Levi’s one adorable baby!

Camila Alves may be about ready to pop, but she’s not letting that slow her down. She partied Tuesday night away at The Viper Room with sexy baby daddy Matthew McConaughey. Apparently Camila was the designated driver (naturally!) but Matthew did open the car door for her. Awww, what a gentleman!

Model Camila Alves, the pregnant girlfriend of Matthew McConaughey, looked fatigued as she left Pavilions Market in Malibu yesterday. Even though she’s clearly exhausted, she still manages to look beautiful. Matthew and Camila are expecting their first child, a delivery surprise, in late June.

We’ve all heard about the big bucks celebrities are commanding for the first piccies of their bubs. Well rumor has it that Matthew McConaughey is the latest celeb to cash in on the trend.

New York Daily News reports that Matthew and his seven-month pregnant girlfriend Camila Alves have hired brand agent Todd Shemarya to negotiate a magazine deal.

Word is three mags are keen to pay more than $1 million for the exclusive shots.

With two months of negotiations left, it looks like these happy snaps could be quite pricy indeed!
