Well, this is sad news: singer Celine Dion’s people announced today that the singer, who announced her second pregnancy in August, is now no longer pregnant. The statement says Celine and her husband Rene will continue to try.
Celine’s been long-rumored to have fertility problems and the couple used IVF to conceive not only this last pregnancy but their first child, 5 year old Rene-Charles. Rene told Canadian paper Journal de Montreal that they are “full of confidence” and Celine is “more determined than ever” to have a baby.

The child Celine Dion is expecting was conceived using an embryo frozen for eight years.
Dr Rosenwaks of the Ronald O. Perelman and Claudia Cohen Center for Reproductive Medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Center Medical Center implanted the embryo, which had been frozen in liquid nitrogen after Celine’s first IVF procedure. She returned to the center after completing her Las Vegas run in 2007.
“She came back to have the embryos transferred back because she wanted to have another baby,” he explained.

She might be 40 years old, but Celine Dion hasn’t ruled out expanding her family. She told the CBS Early Show that she and husband Rene Angelil have at least one frozen embryo in reserve!
