Kendra Wilkinson Anticipates Christmas Baby

June 12, 2009 by lkatulka

90602a1_wilkinson_b-gr_03-1Kendra Wilkinson and her fiance Hank Baskett are expecting a very special present this Christmas: a baby! The former Girl Next Door is 12 weeks pregnant and due on Christmas Day!

The couple had hoped for a baby by June 2010, but were delighted to discover - at the airport no less - that their wish was granted early!

“Hank was like, ‘Hey, why don’t we do a test to see, just real quick,” Kendra told E! “I did it and we found out and we just sat on the baggage claim as everything hit us at once.”

Most people tell family first, but Kendra’s first phone call was surprisingly to ex-boyfriend Hugh Hefner.

“I called Hef because I had to tell him right away,” she said. “He was like, ‘Oh my God!’ and then he cried.”

But they were clearly tears of joy. Hef is so supportive of Kendra’s new relationship, he’s offered up the Playboy Mansion as a wedding venue for the couple’s June 27 nuptials! Kendra declares he’ll also be the new baby’s godfather.

It’s early days but the couple is already talking names: Hank Randall Baskett IV for a boy and Arianna or Kianna for a girl. But they don’t mind either way.

“Whatever comes out of me, we’ll love,” Kendra declared.

Kendra’s busy schedule means she’s battled a few bouts of morning sickness at inopportune moments, including limo rides!

“I’ve thrown up in almost every limo that has taken me out in the last week,” she admitted.

Pregnancy may not be treating her right, but she’s hoping for a smooth delivery, thanks to a little help!

“I’m getting an epidural, everything they can give me,” she reported. “That’s the one thing I’m nervous about the most. Everything else is so fun, but I have visions of my vagina tearing, and that sucks.”

The new arrival isn’t even here yet, but Kendra and Hank are convinced this baby won’t be their last.

“We definitely want another kid right away because we want the two kids to be close in age,” she said. “We want four, but you know, we are taking it one step at a time. We’re concentrating on our first child and seeing where things go from there.”

Jolie-Pitt Family Makes Christmas Gifts

December 19, 2008 by lkatulka

65th Venice Film Festival: Brad Pitt And Family Arrive In Venice

They might be one of the world’s most glamorous families, but the Jolie-Pitt clan prefers to keep things simple at Christmas.

“The kids don’t ask for big gifts for the reason that they don’t see a lot of the American cartoon television, which is packed with all those manipulative commercials for big toys that look so fantastic,” Brad Pitt explained to Hello! magazine.

Brad and partner Angelina Jolie “try to keep the money spent to a minimum” by encouraging their children to make their own gifts.

“The rule is that everyone’s got to make something for someone else, you got to put time into it. Then, when they give to each other, it’s really sweet.”

What a refreshing approach in this crazy consumerist society we live in!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are parents to six children: Maddox Chivan, 7, Pax Thien, 5, Zahara Marley, 3 ½, Shiloh Nouvel, 2 ½, and five-month-old twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline.

After a whirlwind global publicity tour for their new film Australia, Aussie actors Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman are looking forward to some quiet time over Christmas with their families.

Nicole says her first Christmas with baby girl Sunday Rose will feature “a lot of hugs and kisses and Christmas carols.” She said her daughter “loves puppets,” so she’s bought her one which looks like a turtle!

Hugh Jackman, his wife Deborra-Lee Furness, and kids Oscar, 8, and Ava, 3, will be busy in New York City.

“I’ll be going to the Nutcracker, I’ll be going to Rockefeller Plaza, I’ll be going to the Rockettes, maybe catch a Knicks game or two,” he told People.

Keri Russell Prepares for River’s First Real Christmas

December 5, 2008 by lkatulka

Keri Russell and River

Those very first Christmases are so special, and Keri Russell can’t wait to spend hers with 17-month-old son River and husband Shane Deary.

“This is our first real Christmas,” she told People magazine. “We had one last year but River was such a baby, so this is the first year that he’s older and can run around.”

Keri’s also enjoying watching the development of River’s personality.

“He’s very cute,” she said. “He’s very sweet. He’s just a sweet, mild-mannered guy. He’s definitely a boy. He loves playing with trucks, being with his dad.”

It’s not always easy to balance motherhood and a career, but Keri’s doing the best she can.

“I’m working on it. It’s just an everyday process. You just take it a day at a time and try to keep the things that are important, like family, important.”

Roman Zelman’s Happy Holidays

December 4, 2008 by lkatulka

Debra Messing and Roman

Lucky Roman Walker Zelman gets doubly spoiled over the holidays. Debra Messing says her son “knows he’s Jewish,” but he “doesn’t know that Santa doesn’t come for Jewish people.” Debra doesn’t have the heart to break the news to him, so the family celebrates both holidays.

“We have the menorah and we light the candles and so for him, he just knows that it’s Hanukkah because there’s fire…He also loves the prayer, and he pretends like he knows how to say the prayer (babbles jibberish). And he’s so proud of himself.”

Like most little boys, Roman “wants everything,” but he isn’t “getting everything”! Instead he received eight presents for Hanukkah, before visiting his grandmother on Christmas Day.

Debra, her husband Daniel Zelman, and little Roman get in the festive spirit by visiting the outdoor mall The Grove. Roman’s favorite parts are the dancing water display and neon Santa Claus.

“It goes across slowly on this wire, and you watch it, and then it stops, and then it backs up, and then it goes again. And you’re thinking, ‘Okay how long can this entertain this child?’ Three hours later, it’s like okay, ‘We have to go!’ He just loved it.”

Christina Aguilera Anticipating Holidays with Max

November 25, 2008 by lkatulka

Christina Aguilera leaving a Hotel in New York City

It won’t be too long until Max Liron Bratman is getting around on his own. Christina Aguilera says her son is “a mover and shaker” who is “so close” to walking!

Ten-month-old Max “is constantly moving, constantly banging on things,” leading Christina to wonder whether she’s passed on some musical genes!

“I don’t know what that means; maybe he is a drummer in the making, I don’t know.”

With Christmas just a month away, Christina is anticipating spending the holiday with her son for the first time.

“Holidays are huge to me, so I am really looking forward to spending the holidays with my family and being able to appreciate the fact that it is my son’s first Thanksgiving and Christmas.”

She also can’t wait to share all that food! Christina doesn’t cook any herself, but she says that’s her next goal.

“My mom loves to cook really southern, good, buttery, salty, delicious, bad-for-your-arteries kind of food, but it is amazing, and I hope to be a cook like that someday because one thing that I look forward to whenever I do go home is tasting my mom’s home cooking,” she reveals. “I want to do the same for Max. Cooking is my next goal in life to achieve.”

Reese Witherspoon Loves Christmas With Kids

November 16, 2008 by lkatulka

The 42nd Annual CMA Awards - Arrivals

She might play a woman forced to spend holiday with her family in her new movie Four Christmases, but Reese Witherspoon never celebrates the season under sufferance.

Instead she says it’s “nice to have all that warmth and love” that comes from nine-year-old daughter Ava Elizabeth and five-year-old son Deacon Reese. The trio “makes cookies for Santa for Christmas Eve … hangs their stockings [and] decorates the tree.”

And on the big day, you’ll probably find Reese in the kitchen!

“I love to cook. I make an applesauce cake every morning on Christmas morning. My mom used to make a coffee cake every morning. There’s a lot of food involved in our Christmas … a lot of country cooking.”
