Katherine Jackson Awarded Temporary Custody of Michael Jackson’s Children
June 30, 2009 by lkatulka
Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, has been awarded temporary custody of his three children, Prince Michael, 12, Paris Michael, 11, and Prince Michael II, 7.
Los Angeles Superior Court judge Mitchell L Beckloff approved the proposal based on papers submitted by her lawyer. The children have been in their grandmother’s care since Michael Jackson’s death last week at the age of 50.
A further hearing to determine permanent custody has been scheduled for August 3. Jackson family lawyer Londell McMillan said Katherine will launch a legal claim for custody, commenting that “She loves them dearly.”
“They’re in a loving environment. She’s a great grandma. I couldn’t think of anyone better for these children than a grandma like Miss Katherine Jackson and the loving support of family of the Jacksons.”
If anything good can come from this tragedy, it’s that those poor children will find a loving home. I have my reservations about whether an elderly woman can care for three young kids, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

World Mourns Michael Jackson, But Who Will Care for His Children?
June 29, 2009 by lkatulka

After the tragic death of Michael Jackson last week, the greatest question now is the fate of his children, 12-year-old Prince Michael I, 11-year-old Paris Michael, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II.
It was initially speculated that Debbie Rowe, the mother of the eldest children, may apply for custody. However that now seems unlikely, after revelations today that Michael Jackson was not the children’s biological father, and that Debbie considers herself a bad mother.
“Michael was divorced, lonely and wanted children. I was the one who said to him, ‘I will have your babies’,” Ms Rowe said. “I offered him my womb - it was a gift. It was something I did to keep him happy.”
She then added that she was “impregnated” like one of her own mares.
“Just like I stick the sperm up my horse, this is what they did to me. I was his thoroughbred.”
Despite Michael’s death, Ms Rowe, who married the pop star while pregnant with Prince I in 1996, said she was never a good mother and would not seek custody of the children.
“I got paid for it, and I’ve moved on. I know I will never see my children again.”
It now seems likely to that either Michael’s 80-year-old mother Katherine or the children’s nanny Grace Rwambara will be awarded custody. The children are currently living with their grandmother after their father’s sudden death.

Sharon Stone Hasn’t Lost Custody
September 26, 2008 by lkatulka

Sharon Stone never lost joint custody of her son Roan Joseph after all it seems. According to her lawyers, the clerk made a mistake in writing the court papers.
While the papers state her ex-husband Phil Bronstein would have “sole physical custody” they also state that “custody, visitation, holiday, and vacation schedule shall remain in place as outlined.”
What great news for Sharon and her son!

Sharon Stone Loses Custody Battle
September 24, 2008 by lkatulka
Sharon Stone has lost custody of her eldest son, eight-year-old Roan Joseph following a September 12 court appearance.
The court awarded sole custody to Roan’s father, newspaper editor Phil Bronstein. It declared that he could “provide a more structured continuity, stable, secure, and consistent home that child, Roan, needs.”
Roan currently lives with his father in the Bay Area, where he also attends school. The court ruled that Roan would remain with Phil unless Sharon relocated to San Francisco or he moved.
Sharon and Phil divorced in 2004.

The custody battle between Kevin Federline and Britney Spears has ended, with Kevin being awarded sole custody of their sons Sean Preston and Jayden James.
“All parties have agreed to the following: Kevin will retain sole legal and physical custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James,” Kevin’s lawyer Vince Kaplan told OK! magazine.
“Britney will continue to have visitation rights which may increase over time. The agreement will be presented to the court in the morning for approval by the commissioner.
“Kevin is ecstatic and the boys are thriving.”
If it’s as amicable as the media’s making it out to be, it can only be a good thing for the legal battle to be over. Maybe now both Kevin and Britney can get back to focusing on their sons and leave this ugly mess behind them.

How’s this for a role reversal? This weekend Kevin Federline partied in Miami Beach while ex-wife Britney Spears stayed home with the kids!
Britney had a 12-hour overnight visit with her sons Jayden James and Sean Preston, her first overnight stay since she lost visitation rights in January.
“The kids were picked up before noon on Sunday,” a source told E! News.
It must be such a joy for Britney to spend this time with the boys. I hope she continues to improve and play an integral part in her sons’ lives!

Kimora Lee Simmons has been awarded sole custody of her daughters, eight-year-old Ming and five-year-old Aoki.
The girls’ father, hip hop mogul Russell Simmons will spend time with the girls one weekend out of every eight, and have extra time with them during summer vacations and holidays.
Russell has detailed the nitty-gritty of the custody arrangement in a statement on Perez Hilton. He had nothing but praise for his ex and the way she is raising their children.
“Kimora is a excellent mother and is doing a great job with them. My kids are studying a couple of foreign languages, they travel around the world, they practice yoga, ballet, swimming, karate and piano, among other things … sometimes I think they do too much, but I trust in Kimora on this because she IS a good mother.”
I hope this arrangement works out the best for everyone concerned!

Britney Spears Gets Extended Visitation
May 7, 2008 by lkatulka

Things are looking up for Britney Spears, after a Los Angeles court ruled yesterday that the pop star can spend more time with her children Sean Preston and Jayden James.
Britney didn’t speak to the media as she left court, but she appeared to be in good spirits.
Kevin Federline’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan was a little more forthcoming with details. He confirmed that Britney now has greater visitation rights, but said it’s unclear how much more time she will spend with her children.
“We are pleased with the progress that seems to be occurring,” he told reporters. “It’s a cautious step but a step nonetheless. The [visitation] modifications will be phased in [in] the near future.”
He added that Kevin hopes for “two parents participating actively” in the boys’ lives.
“We are so pleased with Britney’s progress and we are very pleased with the court’s recognition of this progress,” Britney’s parents Jamie and Lynne said in a statement.
This is really encouraging news. Britney certainly seems to have turned things around, so hopefully she can keep it up for the sake of little Sean and Jayden!
