Jamie Lynn Spears is Expecting a Baby Girl!

May 8, 2008 by lkatulka

Jamie Lynn Spears spoke out in the latest issue of OK! magazine about her recent baby shower, her fiancé CaseyJamie Lynn Spears Aldridge, and how they’re both dealing with her pregnancy. She also confirmed that she’s expecting a girl!

The pregnant teen she was thrilled by the outpouring of love and support she received at her recent baby shower. And the baby goodies weren’t bad either!

“I got adorable clothes. I registered for all the necessities. There is a certain type of bottle I use, Dr. Brown’s bottles. You need your travel set and your sling. I got a wonderful sling yesterday. It is adorable, and it will put a baby right to sleep,” she enthused.

She said she hasn’t settled on a baby name yet, adding “no one has given me any suggestions. I wish they would!”

While naming the unborn baby girl has proved frustrating, Jamie Lynn is really enjoying being pregnant.

“It’s when she kicks, when you know she’s there. When she kicks me, I love it. I want to squeeze her already. I do talk to her, you know, like all moms talk to their babies. I just tell her how much I love her.”

She’s also got a healthy attitude to her recent weight gain, which is so refreshing to hear from a young mom-to-be!

“I don’t know the exact amount [I've gained]. I’m sure it’s up in the 20s. I’m pretty normal, I think. It’s a beautiful thing. I’m not going to worry about gaining weight. I’m just trying to stay healthy. I’ve been liking chocolate milk a lot. I’ve been drinking a glass at least once a day. I had morning sickness for the first three months. I couldn’t eat so I didn’t gain any weight in the beginning. I was sick all the time. Now, I feel great!”

Despite criticism of their relationship, Jamie Lynn says she’s very happy with fiancé Casey Aldridge.

“He has always been there for me. I’ve known him forever. Anytime I need anything, it doesn’t matter where we are or where we’re going, he’s the first one to take care of it. He’s asking me every five seconds how I’m doing. He just cares about me and has really been there for me. That’s what has made me so relaxed through it all because he’s relaxed about it.”

I don’t know about you, but I really liked reading that. This poor kid has copped so much flak for her pregnancy, but I really believe she’s doing the best she can. I love her sunny attitude!

Minnie Driver Talks Pregnancy

May 8, 2008 by lkatulka

Minnie Driver sat down with The Independent to dish the dirt on her pregnancy. She was happy to talk about just about anything … except the baby’s daddy.

All she was willing to divulge is that he’s English, “sort of in the same business,” and “really busy.” He’s also definitely not her friend Craig Zolezzi.

“Craig’s not the dad! He’s my great friend and he’s been so cool about it,” she said. “I want to shield the baby’s dad as much as I can because it wasn’t his choice to get roped into all this stuff. It’ll come out in time and there’ll be some other bump people will be interested in and I’ll have this baby and get on with my life.”

She confirmed that the pregnancy was unplanned, but that she couldn’t be happier about it.

“This was an unplanned pregnancy, but it’s been very happily received by everyone. Which is great. It’s something I’ve wanted to do my whole life; I can’t believe I’ve waited this long.”

Something she’s not in any hurry to do is get married.

“Definitely not in the near future. It’s not important to me. I don’t think a piece of paper lends itself to the idea of being a good parent and I want to be a good parent,” she explained.

She’s also still deciding whether to give birth in the United Kingdom or the United States.

“A big part of me wants my child to be English. My family are here [in the UK] and I’m sure I’ll move back here one day. It’s just that my work, and the opportunities I’ve had, have been so varied and wonderful in the States that I’ve just followed my nose really.

“There’s an ease living in America, and you’re judged far more harshly in Britain for your artistic endeavors. But, obviously politically, in America, it’s a … bloody mess.”

Sounds like Minnie’s got a lot to think about!
