Maddie Briann Aldridge has made her debut on the cover of this week’s OK! magazine! The adorable bub looked so comfortable in the arms of her mother Jamie Lynn Spears.

Jamie gave birth in the small town of McComb, Mississippi, and the teen mom wouldn’t have had it any other way.

“Around here, everyone has the same focus. The focus is family, and that’s a good way to live,” she explained.

I honestly wondered how the 17-year-old would cope with childbirth, but it seems she’s stronger than I gave her credit for! She described the experience as “perfect.”

“They’d told me it would be an eight- to 12-hour labor, and I was ready to have the baby in three to four hours. I had a perfect pregnancy and a perfect delivery. I was very blessed.”

Jamie Lynn has settled into a quiet life in Louisiana with fiancé Casey Aldridge and their daughter Maddie.

“She’ll feed every two or three hours. When she wakes up in the middle of the night, I’ll feed her and she goes right back to sleep. There’s no screaming and crying,” she said.

“We get up in the morning, and she gets her little bath. Then I get my bath. We have a routine, and I love routines. I’ve worked one out with her, and we’re happy going about our little life.”

It sounds like she’s doing beautifully and showing maturity way beyond her 17 years. Good on her!

Jamie Lynn Spears gave birth a baby girl called Maddie Briann, at a Mississippi hospital at around 9:30 am this morning.

“Just the family was there,” a source told People magazine. “Everyone is healthy and happy.”

The Associated Press received reports that Maddie weighed 7 lb. 11 oz.

Maddie is the first baby for Jamie Lynn and her fiancé Casey Aldridge. Congratulations to them both!

There’s not long to go now!

Jamie Lynn Spears is expected to deliver her daughter in the next week, and half of the family has arrived in Louisiana to show their support.

Big sister Britney, brother Bryan, father Jamie, and an assistant all arrived in the state yesterday afternoon.

Jamie Lynn and her fiancé Casey Aldridge have spent the pregnancy in Louisiana.

Good luck Jamie Lynn! What an exciting, and scary, time for her! I’m sure the strong family presence is making it a little easier on her.

Jamie Lynn Spears spoke out in the latest issue of OK! magazine about her recent baby shower, her fiancé Casey Aldridge, and how they’re both dealing with her pregnancy. She also confirmed that she’s expecting a girl!

The pregnant teen she was thrilled by the outpouring of love and support she received at her recent baby shower. And the baby goodies weren’t bad either!

“I got adorable clothes. I registered for all the necessities. There is a certain type of bottle I use, Dr. Brown’s bottles. You need your travel set and your sling. I got a wonderful sling yesterday. It is adorable, and it will put a baby right to sleep,” she enthused.

She said she hasn’t settled on a baby name yet, adding “no one has given me any suggestions. I wish they would!”

While naming the unborn baby girl has proved frustrating, Jamie Lynn is really enjoying being pregnant.

“It’s when she kicks, when you know she’s there. When she kicks me, I love it. I want to squeeze her already. I do talk to her, you know, like all moms talk to their babies. I just tell her how much I love her.”

She’s also got a healthy attitude to her recent weight gain, which is so refreshing to hear from a young mom-to-be!

“I don’t know the exact amount [I've gained]. I’m sure it’s up in the 20s. I’m pretty normal, I think. It’s a beautiful thing. I’m not going to worry about gaining weight. I’m just trying to stay healthy. I’ve been liking chocolate milk a lot. I’ve been drinking a glass at least once a day. I had morning sickness for the first three months. I couldn’t eat so I didn’t gain any weight in the beginning. I was sick all the time. Now, I feel great!”

Despite criticism of their relationship, Jamie Lynn says she’s very happy with fiancé Casey Aldridge.

“He has always been there for me. I’ve known him forever. Anytime I need anything, it doesn’t matter where we are or where we’re going, he’s the first one to take care of it. He’s asking me every five seconds how I’m doing. He just cares about me and has really been there for me. That’s what has made me so relaxed through it all because he’s relaxed about it.”

I don’t know about you, but I really liked reading that. This poor kid has copped so much flak for her pregnancy, but I really believe she’s doing the best she can. I love her sunny attitude!

Jamie Lynn Spears celebrated her baby shower with family and friends, including big sis Britney, on Saturday afternoon. Notably absent was Jamie Lynn’s fiancé and the baby’s father Casey Aldridge.

Mother Lynne’s Kentwood home Serenity was decorated with pink and blue balloons for the event. The guests ate fried chicken and chilli, and drank non-alcoholic beverages.

Security was tight, with police creating a roadblock and checking identification to ensure only those invited were allowed in. The gathering was relatively small by celebrity standards, with only 50 cars gaining access.

It might seem like an extreme measure, but I can’t say I blame the Spears clan. Paparazzi helicopters hovered overhead and kept most guests inside for the evening. At least it seems like they had a good time, with music apparently blasting until way past 8 pm.

Teen mom-to-be Jamie Lynn Spears has faced plenty of criticism from all sectors of society, including the readers of this blog! So she must be thrilled to hear the sympathetic words of Beyonce’s sister, Solange Knowles. Solange knows what she’s talking about. She gave birth to her son Daniel Julez when she was just 18.

“I’m sure a lot of people perceived that I was gonna be a young, irresponsible mom. I think that there are some moms who are 35 who are just as irresponsible,” she told US Weekly.

“My son has been my focus ever since the day he was born. He’s been the light of my life, the inspiration behind everything.”

So what advice does she offer Miss Spears?

“You just have to make the best decisions for you. You have to decide what’s best for you. Who are we to say what’s right and wrong for a person?”

Wise words indeed. It’s very easy to judge as an outsider, but it’s not always the best, or the nicest, thing to do!

Is Jamie Lynn Spears expecting a girl? The National Ledger reported that the pregnant teen was seen purchasing a pink baby bouncer on Monday.

Surely it’s not the sort of thing you’d put a baby boy in. But then again, Jamie Lynn’s only just registered for her baby shower with a whole lot of gender neutral stuff. Perhaps the bouncer is a gift for someone else?

Jamie Lynn Spears headed out to Babies R Us on Thursday to open a gift registry for her baby shower.

People magazine reported the star will hold a baby shower on July 10. She visited the Baton Rouge store with her cousin, but named fiancé Casey Aldridge as the co register.

The gifts don’t give away the baby’s sex, with Jamie Lynn opting for sage green terry cloth changing pad covers, and blankets decorated with gender-neutral Disney characters like Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. She also hopes to receive a car seat, Cookie Monster bath towel, ultrasound frame, and Baby Neptune Ocean Gym.

Mom-to-be Jamie Lynn Spears is proudly sporting some new bling: an engagement ring. A source close to the family reportedly told People she’s planning to marry the father of her baby, Casey Aldridge.

“She’s got an engagement ring,” the source said. “She’s been showing it off, talking about it.”

A baby and now a fiancé all at the age of 16? Do you think such a young couple can really last?

16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears apparently loves being pregnant. Hip Hop Elements says those who know the Zoey 101 is handling her pregnancy with a “maturity” that’s impressed her parents and big sis Britney.

“[Jamie] has such a level head on her. She is handling this situation with a maturity that is surprising even her own family,” said a source close to the Spears clan.

“She’s behaving like a pretty normal teen. She’s not even worried about how much weight she puts on or doing any special exercises. At her age, her body will bounce right back and she knows it.”
