Clay Aiken Has a Gift with Son Parker
Clay Aiken is loving life as a hand-on father to three-month-old Parker Foster Aiken.
“I don’t have a problem with diapers … I don’t have a problem with any of that stuff,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “It was probably a week before [Parker’s mother Jaymes Foster] had to change a diaper at all, because it doesn’t really bother me.”
He’s also got a knack for calming down Parker when he fusses!
“It’s a rhythm. You have to get into it and try to figure out what he wants. I think I’m trying my best to be the stubborn one who doesn’t always let him cry and get what he wants, but he’s still young … he owns us right now.”
Ordinarily fans would see Clay on the road over Christmas, but this time around he’s opted to reprise his role as Sir Robin in Monty Python’s Spamalot. It was an easy decision, said Clay, who wanted to give his son some stability over the holidays.
“I wanted to be in a place where I could … spend the first Christmas with Parker and not be in a different city every night.”
Clay Aiken Welcomes Baby Boy

American Idol graduate Clay Aiken and his friend Jaymes Foster are the proud parents of a new baby boy. Parker Foster Aiken was born in North Carolina at 8:08 am this morning, 8 August, 2008. If they’re at all superstitious I’ll bet they’re thrilled - 8 is such a lucky number!
Parker tipped the scales at 6 lb. 2 oz. and measured 19 inches.
“The little man is healthy, happy, and as loud as his daddy. Mama Jaymes is doing quite well also,” Clay wrote on his website.
“The Aiken family, the Foster family, and the Parker family are all thrilled.”
Congratulations to them all!

Jaymes Foster and Clay Aiken’s unconventional parenting arrangement has raised some eyebrows to say the least! But friends of the pair say there’s really no need for all the fuss.
“It’s not like [Clay]’s the donor and [Jaymes] is the surrogate,” said Eliza Roberts, a friend of Jaymes Foster. “These are two people who made a very loving decision to have a baby together.”
“This is a story of two people, who perhaps not typical as parents - whatever typical is - or at a stage of life typical for parent, want to have a child to love and to experience parenthood,” added her husband Eric Roberts. “These people have the best foundation of all to share such an important task, which is a strong, abiding friendship.”
Clay’s former American Idol friends have also spoken up with well wishes for the dad-to-be.
Carmen Rasmusen remembers Clay always talking of his wish to become a father, while Jennifer Hudson said she thinks Clay “will be a good parent.”
I must say, I’m all for this. After all, how many people bring kids into the world that they don’t even want? Obviously they’ve thought this through and have a lot of love for one another and a baby. In my books that’s all you really need!

Clay Aiken’s going to be a daddy!
Apparently Clay’s producer and best friend Jaymes Foster is pregnant with his child via artificial insemination.
When I saw the news on TMZ I thought it sounded ridiculous. But a rep for David Foster, Jaymes’ brother, has confirmed the news.
“It is true that Clay is the father,” Bill Vigars told People. “She was artificially inseminated by Clay. She’s due in August.”
The bub will be the first child for both parents. It’s kind of unconventional, but I still wish them the best of luck!
