Celebrity Moms Talk About New Babies at Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute

October 8, 2008 by lkatulka

Women In Hollywood

Some of our favorite celebrity moms got a night off at Monday night’s 15th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute.

Jennifer Lopez was missing her babies Max David and Emme Maribel who were close by when she was preparing for the glamorous event.

“I keep putting them on my lap and the makeup artist is like ‘Um, can you move her?’ And I’m like ‘No! And you know what? I have to have two babies on my lap!’”

Jennifer insists holding her bubs is just “part of being a mom,” and refused to budge on the issue. Now that’s what I like to hear!

Nicole Kidman said her husband Keith Urban and adopted daughter Isabella were at home with baby Sunday Rose so she could attend the event. But she doesn’t like her newborn daughter to be out of her sight for too long!

“I have to have her with me. Being a mom is the norm. So many women … have their toe at least in the workforce and they still want to have families. That’s me too.”

Halle Berry admitted she’s “making a lot of mistakes right now” with seven-month-old Nahla Ariela, but she’s not worried because she knows she’s still new at this.

“Many women have done it before me, so it’s doable,” she said philosophically.

After such an exciting baby boom, I love seeing how all these awesome women are coping with motherhood!

Jennifer Lopez Would Love More Kids

Jennifer Lopez Launches Her Deseo For Men Fragrance

Jennifer Lopez has her hands full with seven-month-old twins Max David and Emme Maribel, but she’d love to have more! Jennifer revealed her plans in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight.

“I’d love to have more kids. I don’t know when, we’ll see, you know, that’s the same way my first ones happened! We’ll just do it the same way for the second [time around]!”

Jennifer said motherhood has changed her “whole perspective on life.

“It’s great because it makes you very focused on the things in your life that you need to concentrate on. It makes everything very simple.”

Even training for the Malibu Triathlon recently didn’t take Jen away from her precious kids. She did most of her training inside her Long Island home!

“I could just throw the babies in a little playpen on the floor, or their little mat. They’d just be right there, and if they got cranky I’d pick them up and put them on my lap while I rode the bike.”

It’s a fairly unconventional training regime for athletes, but it looks like it worked for her!

Jennifer Lopez Loving Motherhood

September 19, 2008 by lkatulka

Jennifer Lopez proves she is a super mom by competing in Malibu's triathlon this weekend. Lopez swam, ran and cycled her way to the finish line!

Jennifer Lopez was proudly nanny-free for some time, but she’s recently decided to hire help for her seven-month-old twins Max David and Emme Maribel.

“I [took care of the twins alone] for a long time, but we started using a nanny a few weeks ago,” she shared. “I get up early with them. Then when the nanny comes, I can take a shower and give them their breakfast. She’s there to help me get things done.”

One might imagine those times would be her favorites, but J-Lo says she lives for the early mornings and late nights when she’s left alone with her twins.
“When they see you and have that big smile on their face - I live for that,” she said. “And when I put them to bed at night and they melt in your arms. I give them a bottle and wind it down. I say, ‘It’s time for beddy-bye.’ I hold them and sing a little song. By the time you know it, they are asleep.”

We all know Jennifer loves motherhood, but will she be heading back to work anytime soon? The singer and actress doesn’t know. She’s just taking it one day at a time.

“It’s gonna be a learning experience. How will I do both [work and mothering]? I try to take breaks from work. I’ll do a little work with the choreographers and then come back. I try to spend every free moment with the babies.”

Despite completing the Nautica Malibu Triathlon last week, J-Lo insists she doesn’t stress about her post-baby figure.

“The triathlon really helped get me in better shape, and snapped me back into my body. I don’t weigh myself a lot. I still have 10 lbs., or so. [But] I don’t have any problems with it. I never felt I had to get rid of it.”

And her husband definitely helps there! “Marc loves the way I look! We love to eat!”

Jennifer Lopez Trains for Triathlon

Marc Anthony Receives Honorary Award From Milan Town Council

Jennifer Lopez is one busy lady! In between looking after five-month-old twins Max David and Emme Maribel she’s a singer, actress, producer, fashion designer, and she’s poised to launch her own charitable foundation. But that’s not all. She’s also training to complete a triathlon!

“It’s important to me to set examples for them. I want to lead with my life. I want to say, ‘You should do this because I’ve done it, and I know it makes you a better person and it makes you feel great and sleep better and be happier,’” she told Self magazine.

Jen’s found her new fitness regime is great for shedding her baby weight. “Working out and getting back into shape isn’t exciting to me,” she admits “but training for a triathlon is!”

So far has Jen has shed half of her baby weight but she still has 15 to 18 pounds to lose.

“On occasional days, 20!,” the singer says. “My body’s different, although in a weird way, it feels normal.”

Wow - I struggle to do that level of exercise and I’m not running around after two little ones! Congratulations to her!

Stars Spill Their Exercise Secrets

Have you ever wondered how those stars get rid of their baby bodies so quickly? This week’s People magazine spills the beans about how the celebs get red-carpet ready! It sounds like a lot of hard work to me!

Mel B got into shape for her Dancing with the Stars gig with cardio-sessions twice a day! These days she’s taking it a little easier, with hour long workouts to her favorite exercise videos daily.

Jennifer Lopez takes her body seriously, and her exercise routine shows it! She trains up to six times a week with 35-minute runs, swimming, and 50-minute bike rides. Sounds like this pop star could become a triathlete!

Jaime Pressly told People that “keeping her butt firm is definitely a focus!” She does it by training up to two hours every day.

Their bodies are definitely inspiring, but without those nannies I’m not sure how you could fit all that exercise in!

Anthony-Lopex Clan Head to Spain

Marc Anthony’s setting out on his world tour next month, but his biggest fans won’t be far behind. Marc will take wife Jennifer Lopez and their twins Max David and Emme Maribel out on the road will him.

Marc said he couldn’t be happier that his family is accompanying him on an eight-day stint to Spain.

“Thinking of them completes me,” he told press at a recent media appearance. “When I’m in Spain, since they will be with me, they will inspire me.”

Awww! It looks like his family has given him plenty of inspiration lately! Marc is also preparing to enter the studio to record not one, but two new albums. The first will be full of salsa music while the other will be a mellower ballads record. He hopes to finish both by the end of the year. Now that’s ambitious!

Ask.com’s Top 10 Music Mamas

May 6, 2008 by lkatulka

Ask.com has compiled a list of their top ten music moms, and the results might surprise you. I know they surprised me! Here’s the Ask.com list.

  1. Britney Spears
  2. Jennifer Lopez
  3. Christina Aguilera
  4. Celine Dion
  5. Madonna
  6. Aretha Franklin
  7. Cher
  8. Gwen Stefani
  9. Whitney Houston
  10. Shania Twain

I think Cher and Madonna have definitely earned their places, but Britney Spears? Surely to be a top mom you actually have to have custody of your kids! And with all those drugs, I’m not sure Whitney Houston really deserves to be on the list either!

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony Baptize Twins

April 15, 2008 by lkatulka

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have baptized their seven-week-old twins Maximilian David and Emme Maribel. The intimate ceremony was held in a Long Island church on the weekend.

Close friends and family attended the ceremony before heading to a reception at the Lopez-Anthony estate. I can’t read anywhere whether Tom Cruise ended up being the godfather or not, but if I find out I’ll let you know!

Tom Cruise To Be Godfather?

April 8, 2008 by lkatulka

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are devout Catholics, so it’s a little surprising to hear Jen wants Tom Cruise to be Emme and Max’s godfather.

Godparents are supposed to guide a child’s spiritual beliefs, so one of the world’s most devout Scientologists would be a really strange choice. Apparently hubby Marc Anthony has also said he’s “concerned” about the choice.

But there’s no denying Tom seems dedicated to the twins. He’s splashed out on plenty of goodies for the gorgeous pair, including a giant aquarium and $200, 000 worth of christening clothes!

And he’s not stopping there, with NineMSN reporting he plans to spend a quarter of a million dollars on a party for them. I know he’s loaded, but the little ones won’t even remember it!

J-Lo Shows Off Babies

March 20, 2008 by lkatulka

I know we’re all dying to catch a glimpse of Jennifer Lopez’s little bundles Max and Emme. But be patient. The new mom and her beautiful bubs will appear on the cover of the new People magazine. Photos will be up at People.com at 7 am this morning before the issue hits newsstands on Friday.

In other J-Lo news, apparently the Latin diva is keen to shed her baby weight. She gained around 40 pounds during her pregnancy, and she’s enlisted celeb trainer Gunnar Peterson to help her get back into shape.

I just hope she doesn’t overdo it. There’s nothing wrong with being healthy, but no one expects her to have a trim toned body so soon after giving birth!
