Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Honsou have released further details on the birth of their son, who was born on May 30th.

The new arrival has been named Kenzo Lee Honsou, after the Japanese fashion icon Kenzo Takada. He weighed exactly 8 pounds at birth, and was 20 inches long.

Kimora Lee Simmons and her partner Djimon Hounsou are the proud parents of a new baby boy! The couple’s son was born on Saturday morning, May 30.

Kimora chronicled her labor via Twitter, posting comments like “It’s time!! No turning back! At hospital in labor right now!!” and “Having contractions now! Ooo-wee! It’s like WHOA!”

I’m kind of impressed she could think of technology at a time like that! The baby’s name and birth stats are yet to be revealed. He joins big sisters, Ming Lee, 9, and Aoki Lee, 6 ½, from Kimora’s previous marriage to Russell Simmons.

Kimora Lee Simmons has already given birth to two girls (Ming Lee, 9, and Aoki Lee, 6 ½,), and she knows something is different this time around. Does that mean that her third child will be a boy? Kimora and her partner Djimon Hounsou certainly think so!

“With the girls I was wider in the belly. Now I’m narrower, but if I turn sideways I can’t fit through the door!,” Kimora said.

With less than two months to go, she recently celebrated her baby shower with some famous friends including Holly Robinson Peete and Stevie Wonder. They dined on a mix of gourmet delicacies like shrimp caviar and poached salmon, and comfort foods like macaroni and cheese. There was also a fondue fountain with chocolate, fruit and marshmallows!

Kimora said she was very hands-on with the diverse menu.

“I was very involved with the food because I’m a greedy pregnant girl,” she said. “I’ve been eating a lot of spicy food. I put jalapeños in everything!”

Dad-to-be Djimon was also there. Kimora says he’s anxiously awaiting the birth of his first child.

“Djimon is a spiritual person, and it’s a big deal for him to have a baby,” Kimora said. “When he first saw the heartbeat at the ultrasound, he said he felt very humbled.”

Sisters in waiting Ming and Aoki “don’t quite get the birds and the bees,” but they’re looking forward to their new roles!

“The girls love being princesses. They love fashion and being girly. The girls say, ‘We’re going to dress the baby up!’ Djimon’s like, ‘No, you’re not going to be pinning tulle to the boy!’”

I guess we’ll have to wait and see who’s right: the kids or the parents!

She never really made a formal announcement, but it sounds like Kimora Lee Simmons is ready to talk pregnancy to the press!

She stopped to chat to Usmagazine at last Saturday’s Barbie fashion show about her persistant cravings.

“On the way to the show, I had to have a slice of pizza — New York pizza,” she said. “I think I’m going to have another one after the show, too.”

But it seems Kimora Lee’s parter Djimon Hounsou isn’t very understanding about her need to binge! When she mentioned her need for a slice to her man, she didn’t get the reaction she was hoping for.

“He was like, ‘No!’”

Kimora Lee was at the show to watch her daughters Ming Lee, 8, and Aoki Lee, 6, walk the runway.

“This is a real show - they’ve never done a real show without their mama,” she said. “So, I’m hoping they don’t freak out.”

I’m sure they were complete pros!

Designer Kimora Lee Simmons had some special support at the Baby Phat and KLS Collection Fall 2009 fashion show, held yesterday for New York fashion week. Her ever-fashionable daughters Aoki Lee Simmons, 6, and Ming Lee Simmons, 9, shared the stage.

Kimora Lee has refused to confirm or deny the rumors, but every time I see her these days I’m more convinced she’s pregnant. Can you imagine how exotic her baby with current beau Djimon Hounsou would look?

Baby Phat designer Kimora Lee Simmons shared the runway with daughters Ming Lee and Aoki Lee at the close of her Spring 2009 show. Kimora has been firm about refusing to allow her girls to dress in revealing clothing, and why not? They look beautiful, and completely age-appropriate, here!

She might be a fashion designer, but don’t expect Kimora Lee Simmons to let her daughters follow the trends. Eight-year-old Ming Lee and five-year-old Aoki Lee wear age appropriate clothes rather than the revealing in-style outfits.

Kimora Lee told People she “will not let my daughters show their midriff.” She had enough trouble allowing Ming to wear a halter-style dress!

Personally I think Kimora’s stance is wonderful. Children are little for such a long time, why should we dress them like mini-adults before they grow up?

Kimora Lee Simmons has been awarded sole custody of her daughters, eight-year-old Ming and five-year-old Aoki.

The girls’ father, hip hop mogul Russell Simmons will spend time with the girls one weekend out of every eight, and have extra time with them during summer vacations and holidays.

Russell has detailed the nitty-gritty of the custody arrangement in a statement on Perez Hilton. He had nothing but praise for his ex and the way she is raising their children.

“Kimora is a excellent mother and is doing a great job with them. My kids are studying a couple of foreign languages, they travel around the world, they practice yoga, ballet, swimming, karate and piano, among other things … sometimes I think they do too much, but I trust in Kimora on this because she IS a good mother.”

I hope this arrangement works out the best for everyone concerned!
