Matilda is Number One for Michelle Williams
November 23, 2008 by lkatulka

It’s been a big year for Michelle Williams and daughter Matilda Rose Ledger, who’ve both had to deal with the sudden death of Matilda’s father Heath Ledger. Michelle recently told Newsweek she’s coping by focusing all her energies on her daughter, which means taking a break from acting for now.
“I don’t want to work while she’s in school,” she said. “I want her to have a routine. I want the plainest, simplest, most ordinary, habituated routine possible. I just want to know what’s coming next.”
To achieve this goal Michelle has relocated her family to a farm in upstate New York. It’s been a great way to escape the glare of the paparazzi!
“It burns a fire inside of me, the shit that I’ve seen people do to get at me or my daughter,” the 28-year-old actress seethed. “I won’t forget it, and I won’t support it. I don’t want my daughter growing up feeling spied on or threatened.”
It sounds like some time out is just what mommy and daughter need!

Matilda Rose To Inherit Heath Ledger’s Fortune
September 30, 2008 by lkatulka

In an amazing show of generosity Kim Ledger, the father of the late Heather Ledger, has announced his son’s entire estate will go to his daughter Matilda Rose.
When Heath unexpectedly passed away in January it was revealed that his will had not been updated since Heath’s relationship with Michelle Williams and the birth of their daughter. The current will stated his assets would be shared between his sisters Ashleigh, Kate, and Olivia, with the remainder going to his parents Kim and Sally.
Kim has always insisted that Matilda and Michelle would be cared for, but the exact terms were not made public. Kim has finally set the record straight.
“There is no claim. Our family has gifted everything to Matilda,” Kim said. “That was the plan from the moment my boy passed away. There was never any question about the fact that Heath’s estate would go to Matilda. Never a question. We are very close to Michelle and Matilda.”
So close in fact that Kim and wife Ines recently spent two weeks with Michelle and Matilda in the United States.
“It was lovely. There is no animosity [with Michelle] … We are all just one family.”
Heath Ledger’s estate is estimated to be worth more than $16 million.

Actors Donate Earnings to Matilda Ledger
Hollywood nice guys Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell worked hard to complete the late Heath Ledger’s role in The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus. But they’ve done it all for free. The actors have agreed to donate their earnings to Heath’s three-year-old daughter Matilda Rose.
The actors all play versions of Heath’s character Tim in Terry Gillam’s fantasy epic.
“The three actors were totally heroic coming in,” Gilliam said. “This doesn’t happen very often … where there’s a tragedy like this, and very famous, very successful actors suddenly say, ‘OK, we’ll do whatever it takes to help.’
“They came, they allowed the movie to be finished and they didn’t take money - it goes to Heath’s daughter. That’s extraordinary and wonderful … and we’ve got a movie full of wonderful people who did extraordinary things to help.”
Matilda’s claim to Heath’s estate, worth an estimated $20 million, is yet to be decided, but this touching gesture guarantees her financial future is secure. I know these actors aren’t exactly broke, but I still think it’s a beautiful thing.
