Blossom star Mayim Bialik turned her back on Hollywood to pursue her PhD in neuroscience. But now the mother of two is considering returning to her acting roots for the sake of her children.

“I am actually auditioning and sticking a toe back into the industry,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I am very happy I got my degree and I worked very hard on my theses, but in terms of having kids and the family life we have, academia right now is not where I can go.”

Mayim is mom to three-year-old Miles and five-month-old Frederick. It’ll be good to see her back on screen!

Mayim Bialik has confirmed that she recently gave birth to a son! The actress told Celebrity Baby Blog she gave birth to Frederick Heschel on Friday August 15. He tipped the scales at 7 lb. 15 oz. and measures 20.25 inches.

“His first name is for my grandpa, and his middle name is for Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, who marched with Martin Luther King Jr. in Selma,” she explained.

Mayim had a “remarkably fast” home birth, lasting just one and a half hours. She used hypnosis for the pain, and it seemed to have worked.

Three-year-old Miles took in the whole experience while eating granola in his high chair. He’s also taken to his new big brother status like a duck to water.

“Miles does not attend preschool, so he is home with us all the time, is adjusting really well and doing pretty great.”

It looks like Mayim Bialik has had her baby! It all went unreported until the former Blossom star was spotted nursing the newborn at the farmer’s markets in Los Angeles on Sunday!

TMZ reports that the baby is a little boy named Fred, but there’s still no confirmation from Mayim’s rep.

This little bundle is the second child for Mayim and her husband Michael Stone. They are also parents to three-year-old son Milo.

I loved that show, so I was thrilled to read its star Mayim Bialik is expecting her second baby with husband Michael Stone!

The new arrival is due this fall. He or she will join the couple’s two-year-old son Milo.

Mayim also revealed she hasn’t ruled out a return to television.

“I’m working overtime being a mom, but I’d love to do a sitcom again,” she told People.
