Minnie Driver has given birth to her first baby! Her son Henry Story Driver was born on Friday in Los Angeles.

We all saw how big Minnie grew, so it’s little surprise to hear Henry’s no lightweight! He weighed 9 lb. 12 oz. at birth.

Minnie plans to take four months of maternity leave. I hope she enjoys it!

Minnie Driver was looking stunning in Malibu on Saturday. I love the form-fitting black dress she chose for her shopping trip to Cross Creek. All the better to look at the baby bump in!

Minnie Driver looked ready to pop strolling around Malibu this Sunday. She enjoyed a little “me” time, attending a screening of Batman: The Dark Knight at the Cross Creek Plaza. I just love that wrap dress! She’s not looking very happy, but most women aren’t in their last days of pregnancy!

Minnie Driver looked absolutely ready to pop in Malibu yesterday. Not long to go now until that delivery surprise greets the world!

Minnie Driver sat down with the New York Post to reveal some more juicy pregnancy details. But she’s still coming mum on the identity of her baby’s daddy!

Don’t expect Minnie to give her bub one of those weird celebrity names. She said if her delivery surprise is a boy he’ll be named Thomas, but if it’s a girl she’s chosen Isabel. Such beautiful names!

The mystery dad won’t be present at the birth, but she’ll still have plenty of support! Minnie plans to bring along her mom, her aunt, her best friends, a midwife, and her yoga teacher! She says she’ll be “the wailing monster at the center.”

She added, “I’m not married and don’t know if I’ll stay with the guy. It’s great to be an independent creature. Today you don’t need a man anymore. In the old days, a baby without marriage and people would put you out. Today you speak about it on talk shows.”

So true! Ms Independent Minnie has decorated “neutral, peaceful” nannies in both her homes, and while she intends to hire a nanny she also plans to be “a hands-on mommy.”

Minnie is keeping fit in the final stages of her pregnancy with frequent walks along the beach with her “forever, constant, loving” companion, her black lab Bubba. She’s excited about the impending birth of her baby, who is due next month.

“I always wanted to be a mommy. I’m very into feeling this female thing.”

Minnie Driver has recently defended her decision to keep her baby’s gender a secret. I can’t believe she would have to defend her desire to have a delivery surprise! Is it really anyone else’s business?
She told the media at a press conference for her new film Take that “women for thousands of years have not found out,” adding that she “couldn’t base something that was so auspicious and beautiful of that moment, and take away the surprise for home décor.”

But that’s not the only thing old fashioned about Minnie’s approach. She’s also planning to refuse any pain relief and have a completely natural birth, although as her due date gets closer that’s starting to make her a little nervous!

“I’m totally the crunchy, Mother Earth-type, and I’m not looking for any type of intervention. I’m afraid.”

She may have been born and raised in Britain, but Minnie Driver is determined that her new bub will be an American through and through.

“I’ve made my home in America. I love it,” she told Hello magazine. “I’m fully planning on having my baby there.”

She’s also “definitely not” planning on raising the little one abroad either.

Like most first time moms, Minnie’s definitely feeling some jitters as her baby’s arrival draws closer. But she’s philosophical about those nerves.

“All I can do is take stock of the really good, wonderful stuff that I know and pass it on. I’ll try to create as much joy as I can in whatever form it takes.”Minnie is expecting a delivery surprise in August.

Minnie Driver showed off her baby bump at the Hollywood premiere of Hancock yesterday. She’s looking positively radiant ahead of her August due date. I love how Minnie isn’t afraid to show off her sexy legs!

Minnie Driver’s friends feasted on finger sandwiches and basil lemonade at her baby shower on Saturday, but the mom-to-be was “all about the cake.” But can you blame her? It was a Sweet Lady Jane berry cake which sounds utterly delicious!

Around 40 friends joined Minnie to celebrate. The guests hand-painted onesies and wrote their advice for the expectant mom in a keepsake book.

Minnie doesn’t want to know her baby’s gender just yet, so the pink and white peony decorations were no giveaway. She sat underneath the pretty blooms to open her gifts, which included many items from Gymboree’s new line.

Pregnancy hasn’t slowed down Minnie Driver. She’s still powering allong on the set of her upcoming film Motherhood. Those overalls look so comfy!
