New parents Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz let their hair down as hosts of a New Year’s Eve party at Las Vegas’ Pure nightclub. Such events are becoming a rarity for the couple who are focusing all their attentions on their six-week-old son Bronx Mowgli.

“All my focus is on my son,” Ashlee confirmed. “Every day, being a better mom and learning with him … it’s an incredible experience.”

“It’s kind of cool to go back to someone else and care for someone and have responsibility,” Pete added. “It’s one of the few aspects of life where the clichés are totally true.”

The couple have a lot to look forward to in 2009, with “watching Bronx discover life” at the top of their list.

Ashlee is especially looking forward to her son’s milestones, like ”the first time he laughs” and “the first time he crawls.”

The New Year also brings resolutions, especially for potty-mouthed Pete!

“I’m working on not swearing around Bronx,” he admitted. “I know I have a bit of a bad mouth.”

That sounds like a good resolution to make! He might be just six months old now, but kids pick up your bad language so much quicker than you’d think!

We’re all desperate to see Bronx Mowgli Wentz, but his rock star daddy Pete Wentz says we’ll have to be patient for a little longer.

He says they’ve been offered “mounds and mounds of money by mags from here to Guam” for some baby snaps, but they’d rather shield their son from the prying eyes of the public for now.

“There is a danger when there are cameras being held over walls and into our backyard. We are followed day and night and that was fine when it was us, but we are going to do our best to shelter Bronx from that as much as possible. It’s scary to be followed by 10 cars to your home.”

Pete says we’ll see his baby boy “when it makes sense” to venture out as a family. Until then, we’ll just have to be happy with the knowledge that he takes after his mom Ashlee Simpson-Wentz.

“Trust me, he’s cute. He looks like his mommy,” Pete teased.

Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz are the proud parents of a baby boy. son Bronx Mowgli Wentz was born on Thursday November 20 in Los Angeles. He tipped the scales at 7 lb. 11 oz. and measured 20.5 inches.

“Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy, and thank everyone for their well wishes!” a spokesperson for the couple said.

Ashlee and Pete’s parents are on cloud nine as they adjust to their new grandparents status.

“We’re thrilled. [Bronx] stayed up late the first night, smiling at everyone who came into the room,” Pete’s parents, Pete and Dale Wentz, told PEOPLE. “He already seems to have the independence and charm of both of his parents.”

“We are happy beyond words and incredibly proud of Ashlee and Pete. They are unbelievable parents already, and we can’t wait to spend Bronx’s first holidays together with the whole family. We are truly blessed,” said Joe and Tina Simpson in a statement.

Bronx Mowgli is the first child for Ashlee and Pete. Congratulations to them!

Ashlee Simpson enjoyed a performance of Wicked as a special birthday present from husband Pete Wentz. The pair caught the musical at Pantages Theater in Hollywood Boulevard this weekend. They expect their first child later this month.

Pete Wentz has revealed to Playboy magazine that he’s probably having a boy! Pete and his wife Ashlee Simpson have been open with the media about their desire to know their baby’s gender. To this point they still haven’t seen anything on the scans, but their recent visit gave some happy news.

“We know with 90% accuracy that it’s a boy, and our due date is around Thanksgiving,” Pete said.

This could be a Thanksgiving the first time parents will never forget!

Ashlee Simpson’s getting ever closer to her due date, and hubby Pete Wentz couldn’t be more excited! He told People magazine that he’s busily collecting all the parenting advice he can.

“The best advice my dad has given me was, go with your gut. And he said you can’t really have expectations. If I have expectations that he’s [the baby's] going to be a rock star, I’m sure he’ll come out being into sports, and if I have expectations that he’ll be into sports then he’ll be into math or something. I’m just going into taking it one step at a time, and I’m just excited to meet the baby.”

Pete was quick to quash the rumors surrounding the baby’s gender, adding that he’s looking forward to a delivery surprise.

“Contrary to the stories out there, we don’t know the sex of the baby. I’m a person that always likes to be surprised, so I like to wait for the surprise.”

Pete Wentz treated his pregnant wife Ashlee Simpson to a romantic lunch yesterday. The pair dined at one of Ashlee’s favorite haunts, Cafe Med in West Hollywood.

They just look so blissfully happy together, it’s wonderful to see!

The arrival of Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson’s first child may be months away, but the dad-to-be is already getting in some parenting practice … with his puppies!

Pete Wentz told radio host Ryan Seacrest that so far his daddy duties have consisted of “cleaning up puppy poop” and taking care of wife Ashlee’s green olive cravings. But you’ve got to start somewhere!

Pete said he finds the doctor visits “really, really, really, really exciting.

“[I was told] women become mothers when they become pregnant and [men] become fathers when the baby is born. So I don’t feel all the physical things, but when I’m in the doctor’s office, I freak out - it’s this crazy thing, this thing you made.”

The couple doesn’t know whether they’re having a boy or a girl just yet, but Pete says he’s “hoping the doctor will be able to see something in the next couple of weeks.”

Ashlee and Pete expect their first child this fall.

We heard they were, then he said they weren’t, but now we know they are! Yes those Ashlee Simpson pregnancy rumors were confusing, but Pete Wentz has now spoken out on why he initially denied the story.

“Every woman, no matter who they are or what they do for a living, has the right to wait at least 3 months before sharing this very personal news. We wanted to wait until after the first trimester and get a clean bill of health from our doctors before confirming anything, just like any other couple,” he told MTV.

He also said the rumors caught him off guard, adding that “being a boy I have no idea how to respond to such things and my first instinct was to protect her and the baby.

“It’s insane that you can’t let happy news brew in Hollywood. This wasn’t about press or anything. It was about the health of the baby and trying to find a way to be happy with what should be the most happy time of our lives in the middle of a press blitz. I apologize to anyone who felt misinformed but the truth is, the person and growing baby is who I felt most loyal to protect and defend.”

I’m sure most parents can relate to what he’s saying. I love the way he put it too. I admit, I don’t know a lot about Pete Wentz outside of his work with Fall Out Boy, but after reading this I have a hunch he’s going to make an excellent father.
