Jerry O’Connell Does Diapers
July 3, 2009 by lkatulka
I always admire a dad who’s not afraid to get his hands dirty. So I take my hat off to Jerry O’Connell, who’s been happy to pitch in since his wife Rebecca Romijn gave birth to twins Charlie and Dolly six months ago, no matter how unpleasant the job!
“I do a lot of diapers. It’s amazing how much babies go to the bathroom, number one and number two, and it’s amazing how messy number two is,” he said recently. “The worst is when there is explosive number two and it gets everywhere. God forbid if you are at a restaurant or a mall and there is an explosive number two!”
Talk about disgusting! While Jerry seems to take on plenty, he insists that Rebecca deserves most of the credit.
“You know kids are a little bit of a hassle, having two is a little bit of a hassle,” he joked. “You know, a lot of feedings at night. They’re super cute. My wife is doing a great job of raising them, so keep it up honey!”
Cute, happy to change diapers, and completely besotted with his wife? Is he the perfect guy or what? And as we can see in this photo, he even does groceries!

Babies on Set Make Jennifer Lopez’s Journey Back to Acting Easier
June 6, 2009 by lkatulka

Jennifer Lopez is set to make a return to the big screen after a three year baby hiatus! But before starting work on The Back-Up Plan, Jen had to conquer those inevitable nerves.
“I was like, ‘What if I forgot how to act?’” But now it seems she’s found her comfort zone, as she comments, “It’s great to be back, actually.”
Things are a little different now; Jennifer’s 15-month-old twins Max and Emme are never far behind!
“I bring the babies to work with me,” she shared. “Honestly one of the best days of my life was the first day back working on this film – I wanted to do this film really badly — and bringing my babies with me that morning. I was like, ‘Oh my God, they’re with me, I’m making a movie, they’re here!’ It was the best.”
The role of Zoe, a woman desperate to start a family, was one the 39-actress could easily identify with.
“It’s great that I get to do the whole pregnant thing because it is so fresh in my mind,” she explained. She also enjoyed bringing her own experiences of motherhood to the part. “Just being a mom and thinking about being a mom … the emotional part of it, kind of the sentimental feelings that go along with the romance of it and somebody standing by you. I get to bring all of that into this movie … my perspective has changed for the better, I think.”
It sounds like this could be some of Jennifer’s best work yet!

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick Expecting Twins via Surrogate

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are expecting twin girls via a surrogate! The babies are due to arrive later this summer.
“The entire family is overjoyed,” a couple for the rep confirmed.
The couple has looked to extend their family since welcoming their son James Wilkie six years ago. But the road hasn’t been easy.
“They had a lot of unsuccessful tries,” a friend of the couple told Entertainment Weekly. “They came to the conclusion that this was going to be the best alternative for expanding their family.”
“They’re over the moon and excited as any prospective parents would be. Their life is about to get a lot busier.”
Well that’s an understatement! For now the couple are focusing on their careers while they can! Jessica’s filming a romantic comedy Did You Hear About the Morgans? with Hugh Grant, and preparing to star in the Sex and the City sequel. Meanwhile Matthew is busy on Broadway with his starring role in The Philanthropist.

Jerry O’Connell’s TV Twins
April 27, 2009 by lkatulka
Dolly and Charlie O’Connell are quickly becoming couch potatoes! Jerry O’Connell said his four-month-old twin girls love watching Dancing with the Stars and American Idol, but they’re not so keen on the news!
“They watch what I watch,” the new dad told People at the Cinema Society premiere of his film Obsessed in New York City. “I know this is probably bad, I’ll get in trouble for this, but I do put them in front of the television and they love it.”
They “don’t know how to work the remote because they are only four months old,” Jerry said, but they’ve still got their favorites.
“The news channels kind of bore them, but they love Dancing With the Stars,” he explained. “I think it’s the music and the people twirling and the color. It’s just a bright show. They also like Adam [Lambert] on American Idol. I put them in these rockers in front of the TV if I’m watching and they calm down. You watch their faces and they just smile. They really like it. I want them in the room with me, and I don’t put their faces up near the set.”
Thankfully the twins are developing some differences, because it was tough for dad to tell them apart!
“Dolly is blonde … Charlie is brunette, which is really helpful because I was getting very confused for a little while,” he admitted. “Dolly is very girly and she is kind of coy and looks at you out of the tops of her eyes. And Charlie, the brunette, never cries, but when she wants something she growls.”
Jerry is also full of praise for his wife Rebecca Romijn who continues to nurse the girls despite being back at work on the set of Eastwick.
“Rebecca is breastfeeding the whole time, that’s the most remarkable thing. She’s working right now and nursing. We’re shuttling milk back and forth from the set and bringing the kids to her. A [lactation consultant] at the hospital taught her the double football hold — that’s what we call it. And it’s great.”

Twins Inspire Diana Krall’s “Quiet Nights”
April 14, 2009 by lkatulka

Diana Krall’s latest album Quiet Nights comes from a peaceful place, and it’s little wonder. It seems life has changed for the jazz singer since she become a mother to two-year-old twins Dexter and Frank.
“I’m just really happy,” she told USA Today, adding “I didn’t have just [music] to focus on; I always looked forward to the end of the day, when I saw my kids. So the whole process was a joyful one, very natural, not at all self-conscious.”
But music is the focus once again as Diana prepares to embark on a summer tour to promote her new CD. Thankfully the transition will be made easier by taking the little ones along for the ride.
“I’m a stay-at-home mom as much as I can be,” Diana said, noting that the twins “started touring at 6 months old and were on a bus through Europe last summer.”
When they’re not on the road, the twins are left in the capable hands of their father, Elvis Costello. But it doesn’t make the separation that much easier!
“It’s torture to leave them, but I know they’re with Elvis,” she admitted.
It’s clear that the Grammy-award winner is cherishing motherhood.
“I’m such a big kid myself. I’m a great meal planner; I get up and make pancakes and we all sit and talk. They love certain films and books; now they’re discovering dinosaurs. They’re just the most delightful beings.”
Dexter and Frank are the first children for the couple, who married in 2003. Quiet Nights is available now.

Candice Alley Makes Most of Pregnancy
April 12, 2009 by lkatulka

Australian swimming sensation Grant Hackett and his singing wife Candice Alley have twins due in October, but they’re doubtful the babies will take that long to arrive!
“It worries me going into pre-term labor … with twins it’s inevitable,” she told The Sunday Telegraph. “I’m going to try and keep them inside for as long as possible. I worry because I’m petite. I’m just going to lie down from 30 weeks - I don’t want to risk the babies being born so premature that I would have to go home without them.”
Candice has resolved to deliver her babies via c-section.
“I don’t think the babies need to be put through the stress and neither does the mother,” she explained. “I think it’s too risky with twins.”
She’s 15 weeks along, and she’s making the most of her pregnancy before the babies arrive. She’s back in the stdio recording her second album, buoyed by the recent revival of her 2003 hit “Falling.” A new remix of the song is sitting at number 35 on the global Billboard charts.
She’s also been doing her fair share of shopping to prepare for the birth; which is something her husband Grant Hackett loves.
“I bought a couple of baby clothes the other week and Grant couldn’t stop touching them: he’s getting all clucky. He’s so excited, he keeps going into the nursery and playing with all the stuff.”
So long as he gives the toys up when the twins arrive!

Charlie Sheen’s Twin Trouble
They may not be identical, but Charlie Sheen still can’t tell his newborn sons apart!
“I can’t tell [who's who]!” Charlie told Entertainment Tonight from the set of Two and a Half Men just days after wife Brooke Mueller Sheen, 31, delivered fraternal twin sons. “They’re not identical, but at this stage, they’re similar enough.”
Their names, on the other hand, are much easier to master. Max and Bob “are very short and simple – easy to spell and remember,” Charlie says. “Bob is the same frontward and backward. I’m a fan of a short and simple name. Max was literally Nick until about a minute before he came out.”
The new parents are doing well, but are understandably a little tired. “It’s pretty amazing. Not a whole lot of sleep, but what parent does at this stage?” laughs Charlie. “There’s adrenaline, excitement, fear.”
The newborns have enthusiastic playmates in their half-sisters Lola Rose, 3 ½, and Sam, 5, even if they’re a bit confused by their names! “[They're] thrilled,” he says, “but insisting that they’re named Bob and Duke. It’s not Max, it’s Duke.”

Australian Swimmer Expecting First Child, or Maybe Children!
March 16, 2009 by lkatulka
Australian swimming champion Grant Hackett and his singer wife Candice Alley are reportedly expecting twins! Grant’s manager Chris White confirmed the pregnancy, but denied to comment any further.
“Candice is not yet 12 weeks into her pregnancy so understandably Grant and Candice wish to make no further comment at the moment,” Mr White said.
“Until such time as they are ready to announce it themselves, it would not be polite to speculate further.”
The Melbourne-based couple have made no secret of their wish to be parents, but it could come with a sacrifice for Grant. He bought a Ferrari in December, commenting that he wanted to enjoy his dream car before starting a family!
“It’s been my lifelong ambition to own a Ferrari and this is the one time I can do it while there’s just the two of us,” he said.
“My wife agreed on my retirement that I could get the car, but who knows how long I get to keep it for.”
It doesn’t sound like he’ll get to keep it for very long at all!
