March 5, 2009 by lkatulka

Milla Jovovich has finally regained her pre-baby body after gaining 70 pounds while pregnant with daughter Ever Gabo. It took the actress 16 months, but she’s finally at her goal weight thanks to a healthy diet and plenty of exercise.

“I worked my big, little butt off,” she noted. “At one point I just ate oatmeal, salmon and artichokes every day for a week … It was definitely a lot easier putting it on!”

Now that she’s regained her former figure, Milla’s not keen to undo her hard work!

“I do want another baby but not for a little bit. I’ve only just lost all the weight so I want to enjoy my old body for a while before I have to become a crazy alien again.”

That’s understandable!

Angie Harmon’s a Carnivore

February 17, 2009 by lkatulka

Life’s too short for couting calories. Just ask new mom Angie Harmon! After giving birth to daughter Emery eight weeks ago, Angie finds she’s always hungry!

“Right now, I’m literally eating every piece of meat that I see,” she said. “I have a hamburger at lunch, and I make pot roast, anything with meat in it.”

That might make us a little jealous that she’s managed to shed the kilos. Just look at this photo of her at last week’s Unforgettable Evening fundraiser for women’s cancer research! Angie insists a combination of breastfeeding a good genes has helped her return to her pre-baby weight.

“I mean, genetically, I’m a skinny girl so it’s not hard for me.”

Try not to get too jealous ladies! Angie and her husband Jason Sehorn are also parents to Finley Faith, 5, and Avery Grace, 3.

Jill Halfpenny Reclaims Pre-Pregnancy Clothes

January 11, 2009 by lkatulka

Rather than stress about her baby weight, English actress Jill Halfpenny refused to step on the scales for the entire time she was pregnant with her son Harvey!

“I’m presuming I put on a few stone,” she admits.

But eight months later and she’s bounced back.

“I’m at my pre-baby size now, a size 10, which I’m happy about. As soon as I was back in my old clothes I felt myself again.”

Jill adopted a slow and steady approach to weight loss, insisting she just let nature “take its course.”

After three months postpartum, she returned to diet and exercise. That included plenty of the dance moves she learned on the UK’s Strictly Come Dancing.

“I cut my portion sizes and made sure I wasn’t eating the wrong things,” she explained. “When you are working out you have a bit more respect for what you are eating anyway. You think, ‘I’ve just been to the gym for an hour, I don’t want to put that crap in my mouth.’”

Jill says motherhood is “brilliant,” adding that it’s “the best thing in … life, by a mile.”

It sure makes a change from the way pregnancy treated her! First there was “really bad morning sickness,” then Harvey’s labor and delivery proved to be “very long and painful.”

Thank goodness the end results are worthwhile!

“My son’s just getting to an age now where he’s responding to what you do and laughing and smiling, and when they get to that age it’s so rewarding.”

Harvey is the first child for Jill and her husband Craig Conway.

ELLE Style Awards 2007 - Arrivals

So many celebs moan about the weight they gain during pregnancy. So it’s nice to hear about a star missing those womanly curves! Atomic Kitten’s Jenny Frost gained 56 pounds while she was pregnant with 10-month-old Caspar, and she wishes for some of it back!

Jenny misses her “great bottom,” and says “now I’ve got nothing to fill my jeans.”

So how did Jenny jump back into her size 8 pants so quickly? It was really quite simple! She just substituted pasta and bread for brown rice and sweet potatoes. Too easy! She also doesn’t have a nanny, so she stays fit running around after her cutie-pie son!

“When I’m playing with Caspar, I’ll lie on the floor and hold him up in the air, which is great fun for him and works my stomach muscles and arms a treat.”

Sounds like a pretty easy health routine all new moms could try!

Christina Aguilera Reveals Weight Loss Secrets

May 22, 2008 by lkatulka

We’re all amazed at how quickly celebs seem to bounce back from pregnancy. It seems like they give birth one day, andChristina Aguilera then look glamorous on the red carpet the next! Christina Aguilera has revealed some of her secrets in the latest issue of Us Weekly.

Christina definitely wasn’t one of those women obsessing about her changing body shape. In fact, she loved indulging her sweet tooth.

“I had a huge craving for candy toward the end of the pregnancy, from Starbursts to Skittles. I actually took a picture of myself with my big belly in a little lingerie top, surrounded by bowls of the candy I like,” she laughed.

But once little Max popped out, Christina set about losing the pounds. In February she started to do a mix of cardio, weights, and stretching for 90 minutes, five times a week.

“I started out slow, just listening to my body and making sure I didn’t overdo it. I feel a sense of accomplishment. I’m tighter and stronger. As you feel your body getting stronger, you become more motivated to be in the gym! It doesn’t matter how big or small you are. When you’re defined, I think it’s sexy. I exercise because it makes me feel good. It’s not just a physical thing.”

Six day a week she also follows a protein, veggie, and wholegrain heavy diet. But on Sundays she gives in to those cravings which include chili cheese fries!

Us Weekly also asked Christina whether she plans to have any more children. The answer was a hearty yes!

“Absolutely. I can’t tell you when, as I’m not into planning things like that. Maybe around the next tour!”

It sounds like a new bub might be on the way sooner rather than later!
